British Horse Feeds is announcing a new business direction for the company which will result in a focus on their flagship fibre feeds - Speedi-Beet and Fibre-Beet.

The range of mixes and cubes will now gradually be withdrawn from the market but will still be available under the Majestic brand. The decision was made after market research favoured the two popular fibre feeds.

Said Will I'Anson of British Horse Feeds: "As the market changes, businesses' need to adapt to meet consumer demand and as Speedi-Beet and Fibre-Beet are by far our most popular feeds it was decided to focus all of our efforts on them."

A Super Fibre conditioning feed, Fibre-Beet is a formulated blend containing all the benefits of the original Speedi-Beet product with added high quality Alfalfa for optimum condition, and to provide quality protein for muscle tone and function.

Speedi-Beet is a highly nutritious sugar beet pulp feed which is unmolassed, 95% sugar free and provides an excellent source of digestible fibre. Due to its unique manufacturing process Speedi-Beet can be soaked and ready to use in 10 minutes.

Both feeds are approved by The Laminitis Trust and are available in easy to handle 20kg bags.

1) Why are British Horse Feeds ceasing to manufacture their range of cubes and mixes?

The importance of fibre feeds for horses and ponies has grown in recent years. Because of this the interest and focus on Speedi-Beet and Fibre-Beet has increased and these products have become more important within the portfolio of feeds we produce. The decision has been taken to listen to the marketplace and to focus on our fibre feeds, Speedi-Beet and Fibre-Beet.

2) Can I still get hold of any of the products in the cubes and mixes range?

The mixes and cubes will not be manufactured under the British Horse Feeds brand from1 October and so will be less easily available from that date. We are transferring these products into our Majestic brand from that date, however.

3) Which products will be available in the Majestic brand?

Cool 'n' Calm Mix and Cubes will be replaced by our existing Majestic Mix and Cubes, Veteran Care Mix will become Majestic Veteran Care Mix, Ultimate Performance Mix will become Majestic Ultimate Performance Mix and Horse and Pony Mix and Cubes will become Majestic Horse and Pony Conditioning Mix and Cubes.

5) Does British Horse Feeds have plans to manufacture any other horse feeds in the future?

Manufacturing quality feed is what we are good at and we plan to grow our business and strengthen our market share going forward. We are keen to manufacture horse feed for other companies as well as grow sales of Speedi-Beet and Fibre-Beet in the future.

6) Will any of these changes affect the availability of Speedi-Beet and Fibre-Beet?

Absolutely not. In fact to the contrary our focus will be on growing availability both in the UK and overseas.
